CAPTAIN’S CABIN: A special Halloween Treat Tracy reads Stephen Leacock’s Buggham Grange A Good Old Ghost Story.

Tracy reads Stephen Leacock’s “Buggham Grange: A Good Old Ghost Story”. Stephen Leacock (1869-1944) (Wikipaedia) was a Canadian humorist writer and lecturer as well as the William Dow Professor of Political Economy and chair of the Department of Economics and Political Science at McGill University. His parodies of some of the most popular genres in fiction are found in his ‘Nonsense Novels‘ and ‘Winsome Winnie’. My personal favorites of his literary works, however, are his ‘Sunshine Sketches of a Little Town‘ (free text download / audio / iTunes) and ‘Arcadian Adventures among the Idle Rich’ (free text download).

  1. Honestly, I’am speechless. The Shawshank Redemption is fantastic. I’am not too old film fan, in point of fact, this film come out the same yearI was born, and thence I’am to a greater extent accustomed movies with fabulous special effects, edge-of-your-seat action, et cetera. This film has no of that, and nevertheless, it really much . Way Frank Darabont applies the tale of Red to drive on the tale, the excellent the movie applied (note the mouth harp used just before Red receiving the letter at the end). The entire film, from beginning to end, from actions to music, is a beacon of hope, judgment, and redemption. The cast is perfect, Morgan Freeman(Red) actually brings about a fresh feel to the movie, and that is exactly what the film is, what a movie should be. Really recommended for every viewer.
